I wanted the design to be bright and fun, so I completely forgotten I had Essie's '13 Spring Collection. I started off by applying two coats of OPI Alpine Snow, for the base. This helps the colors to stand out. Once the polish was completely dry, I began the water-coloring process. There are so many different methods to do this design; but it's all the same.
I like to add the shades in a aluminum foil, then added a drop or two of acetone on top. I used a oval brush to mix together the mixtures. Then added a few splotches on the base. I used Essie's Naughty Nautical, The Girls Are Out and The More the Merrier (in that order). Now I thought about this the last minute; I could have done it the opposite way.
Either way both ways work perfectly. Once the watercolors dry, I added these really cool and easy nail vinyls. Think of them as sticker stencils. Their a great way to and help guide to create the design. So I placed the chevron vinyls to the nail, and applied one coat of OPI Alpine Snow. While wet I gently removed the vinyls with a tweezer.
Lastly, I sealed the design with Duri- Super Fast Dry Through Top Coat. I can't believe I've never used these shades. I really need to start looking threw my stash. It's that time for spring cleaning! I even created a tutorial for you guys here. ;)
Hope all of you enjoyed my post today!
