Hola amigos! Who doesn't love a houndstooth?! I do! It's a beautiful design that can be worn with anything. It's has been ages since I have done a houndstooth design. There are loads of tutorials on YouTube. So for today's Alphabet Nail Art Challenge: H for Houndstooth.
I wanted to create a ombre effect. It was a little complicated. This is a design, for sure, you will have to continue practicing (I know I did!) But once you have, the effort is well worth it.
First, for each nail, apply once coat of China Glaze's Sensational, which ever color you chose. Before starting the ombre effect, pick out the shade you want for each nail. I wanted each nail to have a different color, looks pretty & it is a lot fun that way.
Once the base was completely dry, I then used a makeup sponge & dabbed the base color and the shade of my chose on each nail. I repeated the method on each nail, once the base was no longer visible. Seal the design with a thin coat of Out the Door Top Coat.
Once the top coat is completely dry, with a stripping brush, create the Houndstooth shape pattern using Black acrylic paint. You can use black nail polish, but I find it easier to use acrylic paint for drawing purposes. Lastly, seal the design with one coat of Out the Door Top Coat.
