Hey everyone! A few days ago I was invited to participate, on instagram, for a birthday collage for Marii from @nailistayco, birthday. I love participating on these collabs, they just make the persons day when they see one of their designs recreated on their special day.
Luckily I purchased the same kit, and was dieing to use it. One of the designs, I was very excited to recreate, was her houndstooth design she used with Orly Rebel Chic Kit. I thought it looked amazing, even including how it was suppose to be for Halloween. This was such a fun and easy kit to use.
When I purchased these, I believed it would only look good without making it look so rebel or rock an roll (if that makes any sense). I for one, do not purchase an item because of the polish or studs, however, this was one of those times. I can't seem to stay away from anything that has to deal with two, especially an updated version.
I can't seem to stay away from anything that has to deal with two, especially an updated version. So for this design, I first applied two coats of Orly (gorgeous), metallic grey polish Iron Butterfly. I really don't know if I should consider this a textured polish or a
matted polish, however this is one I would definitely wear on it's own.
I then applied two coats of OPI Alpine Snow on two of the nails, for the houndstooth. Once the polish was completely dried, I then added a small amount of top coat for the studs. I would have freehand the houndstooth, however I super tired from shoveling and had to go to work the next day.
So I decided an easy way was stamping the houndstooth using Orly Iron Butterfly (no top coat needed). Of-course seeing the design I created, my sister had to get her nails done, but the rebel side was more for her...lol. She wanted everything on the kit, so I gave it to her (which is the above photo).
